Strategy is only useful when someone can move it forward.
I’m Claire Coates, founder of Mrs. Clutch.
I built Mrs. Clutch around a simple belief:
Healthcare leaders shouldn't have to become the bottleneck in the businesses and organizations they're building.
For years, my work has lived at the intersection of healthcare, operations, leadership, and high-performance environments. I have spent more than two decades working in sports, recreation, and emergency response including more than 15 years at the Division I level as an athletic trainer, where the work demanded far more than clinical expertise.
It required anticipating problems before they became emergencies. Coordinating across people, different healthcare disciplines, departments, and competing priorities. Building systems that could function under pressure. Communicating clearly when the stakes were high. And making decisions with incomplete information—often quickly.
Those skills turned out to be incredibly transferable.
As I began working with healthcare professionals and leaders outside of traditional clinical roles, I saw the same challenge repeatedly:
The leader has the vision. The opportunity is there. But the infrastructure to move it forward hasn't caught up.
That's where Mrs. Clutch comes in.
From operational support to strategic partnership
Mrs. Clutch began as a virtual assistance business.
The work evolved.
The conversations became more strategic. The problems became more complex. And I found myself being trusted not simply to execute tasks, but to help leaders determine what needed to happen, connect the moving pieces, build the systems around their priorities, and keep important work moving forward.
The brand has evolved with it.
Today, Mrs. Clutch provides three forms of strategic support:
Strategic Transformation Roadmaps - Creating the roadmap and vehicles leaders need to move from vision to execution.
Strategic Partnerships - Serving as the strategic right hand who connects priorities, people, systems, and execution.
Fractional DOO & CoS Services - Providing strategic and operational leadership for organizations that need executive-level capacity without necessarily adding a full-time executive.
Why healthcare?
Because healthcare leaders operate in an environment where complexity is the norm.
Clinical expertise, business strategy, people leadership, compliance, growth, partnerships, and operations often collide in the same place. Too frequently, the leader becomes the point through which everything has to pass.
I understand that environment.
I understand the pace, the competing priorities, the importance of confidentiality, and the difference between simply getting something done and building a system that can continue working without you.
My goal isn't to take over your business. It's to help you build the strategic vehicles that allow you to drive it forward.
The Mrs. Clutch approach
I don't believe every problem requires another tool, another meeting, or another person.
Sometimes you need clarity.
Sometimes you direction.
Sometimes you need a plan.
Sometimes you need someone who can take the strategy you've already developed and help turn it into execution.
And sometimes you need all four.
That's why I don't begin with a list of tasks. I begin with the business you're trying to build. From there, we determine what needs to move, what is getting in the way, and what kind of strategic or operational support will actually create meaningful capacity.
Ready to build what comes next?
Whether you need a Strategic Transformation Roadmap, an experienced strategic partner, or fractional leadership, Mrs. Clutch can help you create the vehicle you need to move and build the structure to move it.
Let's talk about where you're headed.
